Buil & Giné
Founded by Joan Giné and now led by his grandson Xavi, Buil & Giné is a winery that encapsulates the essence of passion and dedication. Since their humble beginnings in 1996, they have nurtured their vineyards with care, embracing the vibrant spirit of Gratallops, the heart of the D.O.Q Priorat.
With 200 acres of breathtaking llicorella soil and terraced vineyards, Buil & Giné boasts a remarkable collection of grape varietals. Red Garnacha takes the lead, comprising 45% of their vineyards, followed by Cariñena at 30%. White varietals such as White Garnacha, Macabeu, Viognier, and PX add a touch of elegance, while 15% of other red varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, complete the harmonious blend.
But Buil & Giné is more than just a winery; it is a testament to preserving the rich terroir and cultural heritage of the region. Inspired by Joan Giné's vision of "Traditional Viticulture," the
vineyards are cultivated organically, reflecting a deep respect for the land and the wines it yields. Since 2014, Buil & Giné has been on the path to organic certification, aiming to have all their properties certified by 2021.
